About me…

Life has a way of taking us down unexpected paths. My journey began when my daughter was diagnosed as autistic, and it led me to a place of self-discovery and, ultimately, self-acceptance. What started as a quest to understand her world quickly opened up a new understanding of my own neurodivergence.

As I learned more about autism, I began to recognise traits in myself—traits that had once seemed like quirks, but were actually signs that I, too, might be autistic. Seeking a diagnosis as an adult wasn’t easy, but when I was finally diagnosed with both autism and ADHD, everything began to make sense. The challenges I’d faced in school, work, and daily life finally had a name, and the strengths I bring as a neurodivergent individual became clearer too.

My personal experiences, paired with my professional background as an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Advisor, have shaped my understanding of the barriers neurodivergent individuals face—especially when transitioning from education to employment. In my role, I saw how difficult it was for neurodivergent individuals to settle into new job roles, often lacking the confidence to advocate for reasonable adjustments.

A turning point for me came when my eldest’s SEN school developed a careers programme that didn’t feel inclusive or tailored to the strengths and interests of neurodivergent young people. Conversations with friends and colleagues confirmed what I had suspected: there was little support to help neurodivergent young people make the transition from education into the workforce.

That’s when I decided to transform Inclusive Outsource. Initially created to support neurodivergent business owners, it has since evolved into a comprehensive service offering mentoring for young neurodivergent people, family support, and advocacy. From diagnosis to the next step in life, we provide the practical, compassionate support needed to turn potential into success. Whether it’s navigating education, finding the right career path, or advocating for adjustments, our tailored mentoring and support make a real difference. Our goal is long-term impact—helping individuals build a future where they can thrive, with today’s challenges becoming the foundation for tomorrow’s success.
